Kansas City police release name of shooting victim
Kansas City police have identified a 45-year-old man who was found mortally wounded Friday in the 2000 block of East 30th Street as Virgil Marshall.
Officers were summoned to the area just after 10 a.m. Friday and discovered Marshall, who was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
The officers saw a suspect driving away from the area and followed it. When the vehicle stopped near 26th Street and Indiana Avenue, police took a man into custody after a short foot chase.
