Kansas City R&B songstress Mae C. headlined the fourth episode of “Star Sessions,” The Star’s weekly Facebook Live show that features performances from local musicians at the Blue Room on 18th and Vine.

An R&B singer/songwriter with a sound that blends hip-hop, neo-soul and jazz, Mae C. has logged more than 100 performances around the metro at a variety of venues, including the Uptown Theater, the Blue Room, the Granada in Lawrence, at the Juneteenth Festival, IndyFest and more.

After beginning her career in 2014 as an independent artist, Mae C. released her debut album, “Warning Signs of True Love,” in 2016. She began 2017 with the release of her latest single, “Anxious,” a sultry ballad currently enjoying consistent radio play on KPRS Hot 103 Jamz, Kansas City’s premier hip-hop and R&B radio station.

Next month Mae C. will perform alongside multiplatinum R&B group Dru Hill at Hot 103 Jamz’s 15th annual White Linen Party event.

“Star Sessions” broadcast its first episode July 17 with folk-rock singer Duncan Hill. The show followed with episodes from country artist Sara Morgan and Kasey Rausch and Marco Pascolini also known as “The Country Duo.”
