Heat to stick around in Kansas City through weekend, relief not expected until Friday

Hot and dry weather will remain in the Kansas City area through the weekend and most of the work week, said FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank in a weather update for The Star.

The first chance for relief, he said, won’t come until Friday.

“Until then expect hot and dry conditions,” Frank said.

Frank forecasts a 30% chance of rain on Friday that he said could drop temperatures some but even then, he said, it will be nothing widespread.

The official last week of spring before the Summer Solstice next Saturday will be marked by dry heat as temperatures stay in the upper 80s and low 90s, Frank said.

Temperatures in the Kansas City are likely to stay above average through June 24.
