Muggy weather and possible storms expected in Kansas City for Memorial Day weekend

The Kansas City area will “start to feel more like summer” over Memorial Day weekend with hot and muggy weather in the forecast, said FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank in a weather update for The Star.

Temperatures Saturday and Sunday are expected to rise into the 80s, possibly reaching 90 on Sunday afternoon, Frank said.

On Saturday, Frank said, the weather should stay dry. Chance for rain showers, however, might move in later in the weekend.

“That’s what we’ll watch specifically Sunday afternoon,” Frank said.

There’s about a 30% chance of showers forming throughout Sunday afternoon.

The higher chance of rain, Frank said, comes on Monday when there is an 80% chance of rain. Storms are also possible on Tuesday.
