It’s been almost exactly a year since Kansas State beat Kansas at Bramlage Coliseum and fans swarmed the court.
This year’s Sunflower Showdown basketball game at Bramlage is Saturday, and court-storming has been a hot topic. The K-State athletic department posted a video on sportsmanship to its YouTube page on Monday, and that rankled Wildcat fans. Kansas State previously asked students to sign a sportsmanship pledge before they pick up game tickets.
By the way, K-State players encouraged fans to storm the court should the Wildcats win on Saturday. And K-State players said they were still upset about Brannen Greene’s dunk at the end of the Jayhawks’ 77-59 win in this season’s first meeting.
Should be an interesting environment in Manhattan on Saturday.

Well, here’s an extra layer of fun. The Kansas State Collegian tweeted this on Friday:
That’s in reference to last year’s K-State football opener in which there was a controversial halftime show involving the marching band. Everyone agrees that part of the band took shape of a Jayhawk. The other half of the band took the shape of the Starship Enterprise from “Star Trek.”
However ... some thought the band took the shape of something that’s inappropriate to show on this website (here is a link if you can handle it).
Either way, Kansas State sanctioned the marching band director and paid $5,000 fine to the Big 12.
