Guardians broadcaster went viral for roasting Yankees player reviled by Royals fans
When the Yankees were in Kansas City last month, Royals fans booed New York infielder Jazz Chisholm throughout the series.
Chisholm likely didn’t mind because the Yankees swept the three-game series, but he remains an unpopular figure among Royals fans. It stems from the 2024 American League Division Series when Chisholm said the Royals were lucky to win Game 2.
Chisholm later got into it with Royals third baseman Maikel Garcia during that series and again last year at Kauffman Stadium.
Cleveland Guardians broadcaster Tom Hamilton certainly made Royals fans smile Tuesday night with his comment about Chisholm. It came a day after Chisholm was on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.”
During the Guardians’ 9-4 win over the Yankees in New York, Hamilton said of Chisholm: “Well, he predicted the Yankees will win the World Series. He did that on the Jimmy Fallon show. Pretty amazing he got on the Jimmy Fallon show batting .239.”
That clip went viral and a few people were upset because they said Chisholm was on the “Tonight Show” talking about his charity. But I thought this was funny.
