The Chiefs’ schedule nod to Taylor Swift didn’t raise the interest of fans
NFL fans are eagerly awaiting the full 2026 schedule release on Thursday night as the league shares details of a few games here and there.
Many also are waiting to see what the Chargers’ social-media team has cooked up for their schedule release. They’ve done videos in the style of Minecraft and The Sims in the past, and include hilarious details that poke fun at their opponents and opposing players.
You may recall the dig at Mike McDaniel (who is now the Chargers’ offensive coordinator) and the jab at the Chiefs for their loss to Philadelphia in Super Bowl LIX in last year’s release.
The Chiefs’ social-media team tried to get folks excited about the schedule with a tribute to one of the team’s most famous fans, Taylor Swift. The superstar singer loves baking, and is into sourdough, as she revealed on fiancé Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast.
On Monday, the Chiefs shared their 2026 opponents as sourdough. There was Rocky Mountain oysters bread for the Broncos, needle bread for the Arizona Cardinals and sourdough bagels for the Jets.

Not everyone was a fan of the sourdough opponents, and it seemed that many didn’t get that it was a nod to Swift.
“Next year can we have Andy, Brett, and Patrick be in charge of this too?” actor/season-ticket holder Eric Stonestreet wrote on X. “Or ask the Chargers to do it for us?”
One person wrote: “The Chiefs dynasty is officially over. There’s no recovering from this.”
“They’ve gotta be trolling us and will drop the real one tomorrow,” another said.
Another shared this: “When you forget about the big project you have due the next day.”
Many others, however, were aware of the Swift connection.
“Taylor Swift has now become the admin for the Chiefs Twitter account.😂,” one fan joked.
Another wrote: “Taylor Swift doesn’t even post on her own account, but she managed to get the login info for the Chiefs main account and post a Sourdough thread 🍞✨”
“@taylorswift13 i know it’s you,” a fan said.
“taylor get out of this account what are you doing girl,” wrote another.
