Rhode Island official confirms Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift wedding won’t be there

Any information about the pending marriage of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and worldwide singing star Taylor Swift needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

The couple won’t make public their plans, so the gossip sites have relied on unnamed sources. The latest says Kelce and Swift will say their “I Dos” on July 3 in New York City. That came after rampant speculation that they’d marry at her mansion in Westerly, Rhode Island, on June 13.

But we know now that won’t be the case, unless it’s a very small affair.

At a Westerly city council meeting last week, town manager Shawn Lacey was asked if there was any news of The Wedding — and if it would take place at Swift’s mansion — or had been any word about plans for the nuptials. Also: Would a wedding happen at Swift’s multi-million-dollar Bluff Avenue home, or the nearby Ocean House resort?

We have no knowledge of a wedding taking place in June,” Lacey told councilor Rose Van Dover, the Westerly Sun wrote. “If there was one taking place in June, we would certainly have knowledge of it by now.”

Lacey said the only possibility would be if the size of the wedding party is tiny, the Sun reported. That’s unlikely.

The Sun story noted that Lacey is the former Westerly police chief, and that planning for such a high-profile event would have started a long time ago.

“I’ve been in touch with the state on this,” Lacey said, per the Sun. “We’ve coordinated with outside agencies in the event that it was to happen, but there’s nothing that we know of, and seeing that it is now eight weeks away, I can’t imagine someone’s throwing a wedding together in eight weeks.”

Certainly not Swift and Kelce, right?
