Keeping secrets is a big part of what Chiefs general manager Brett Veach does at this time of year.

The NFL Draft is a month away and the Chiefs have the ninth and 29th picks in the first round, so there is rampant speculation about who Veach might select.

But Veach would rather tell someone those plans that reveal anything about the upcoming Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift wedding.

While talking with ESPN’s Peter Schrager on his podcast, Veach was asked if he would be invited to the nuptials. Veach got really quiet, really fast.

“Um, we’ll see. Couldn’t say either way,” Veach said on The Schrager Hour.

Schrager asked: “Is that like, no one’s even allowed to talk about (it), is it pretty secure. OK, I can see the uncomfort. The room just got really tight.”

Both men had a laugh about it.

“That’s like the hardest hitting question you’ll ever ask me,” Veach joked. “Off the record, you can ask me who we’re picking (at) nine. I’m gonna tell you who we’re picking (at) nine. I cannot disclose anything about the wedding.”

After the Veach interview ended, Schrager talked about Veach’s hesitancy.

“I don’t want you to accuse me of trying to fish for like a TMZ headline,” Schrager said, “but the way that Brett Veach responded to me asking about whether he was invited to Travis and Taylor’s wedding, it was as if I asked him for a government secret. Gosh, he clammed up. Tells me there’s been some strict orders, yay or nay, whether he is invited or not, do not speak on the wedding.”
