Many basketball fans had a question after seeing the LED video sports floor that will be used during the Big 12 men’s and women’s basketball tournaments at the T-Mobile Center.

What if someone hacks the system?

Some people shared photos of what they imagine the court could look like if the unthinkable happened during one of the Big 12 games.

The Reddit CFB X account shared this on X: “There is a 99.9% chance a college student is going to hack this in the middle of a game.”

A Big 12 executive saw that message and made it clear no one will be able to change what fans see on the court.

Keena Lynch, who is the Big 12’s Senior Director of Content, wrote in response to the Reddit post: “can guarantee the .1%.”

Lynch later responded to a fan who said that message was a challenge: “Gotta keep people talking about the court for sure - already had someone try to log into this account. 💻📱”

Another fan asked Lynch to bet on the guarantee there won’t be a hack.

“The NCAA & Big 12 Compliance teams say Don’t Bet On It so I can’t accept unfortunately,” Lynch wrote.

Court issue?

The court is being used first at the women’s Big 12 Tournament this week, and one reporter identified an issue.

“One major design flaw (so far) is there’s no halfcourt line during the game except for in the logo, which is tough to see,” KSL-TV sports director Josh Furlong wrote in a viral X post. “Also, courtside seats now can’t serve drinks because it’s a digital court.”
