The Royals have three “Bark at the Park” events planned for the 2026 season, starting with the April 1 game against the Twins at Kauffman Stadium.

One pup got an early start.

Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and his wife, Maggie, brought their puppy to Surprise, Arizona. The very good dog’s name is Barry, and he has his own Instagram account.

The couple adopted Barry in October, shortly after the Royals’ season ended. He is a bernedoodle, which is a mix of a poodle and Bernese Mountain Dog.

Here are more photos and a video of Barry from his Instagram account. Here’s guessing Barry is going to have a blast in Arizona, and hopefully he gets to know dad’s teammates really well.

It would be fun to see more photos of Barry at the Royals’ spring-training complex as players continue to arrive. Barry was one of the first with paws on the ground at camp.
