For Pete's Sake

Chiefs fans relish Eagles’ playoff loss because it validates KC’s dynasty

We will have to wait 13 months or so before learning if there will be another NFL team to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

The Eagles lost 23-19 to the 49ers on Sunday in an NFC Wild Card game, meaning Philadelphia won’t win back-to-back Super Bowl championships.

Chiefs fans celebrated the Eagles’ defeat and relished what Kansas City accomplished by winning consecutive Super Bowl titles. Some also noted the Chiefs were the first back-to-back champ to make it to a third Super Bowl.

The Chiefs’ chance at a threepeat was dashed by the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, which is another reason why fans were happy to see Philadelphia lose Sunday.

Many shared their thoughts on social media with this phrase: “Back-to-back Super Bowls isn’t for everyone!”

A fan on Facebook wrote: “The Eagles won the same amount of playoff games this year as the Chiefs did! Seeee ya Philly!! Byeeeeee!”

That was a reference to Eagles coach Nick Sirianni yelling at Chiefs fans after a win at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Another fan wrote: “They thought what we did was easy.... now they know what the chiefs was able to do was truly special.”

“Hahahahhaha .. never thought I would thank a 49ers team,” wrote another.

And here is a little of what fans shared on X following the Eagles’ loss Sunday.
