For some reason, postal workers seem to be an easy target these days. Heck, “Saturday Night Live” took a shot at them just last month.

But if you know someone who delivers the mail, then you’re keenly aware of just how hard those carriers work and the long hours they log.

Plus, mail carriers sometimes come to the rescue of a dog.

Such was the case in Omaha when mail carrier Roy LaMark III helped reunite a lost pup with its owner last week.

As KETV noted, a 9-pound dog named Milo was reunited with his owner after going missing for 24 days. One fun twist to this story: Milo was wearing a Patrick Mahomes Chiefs jersey. And LaMark is a Bills fan.

According to a Facebook post, painters were in the home of Terilyn Beilke and left a door open. That’s how Milo escaped a few weeks before Christmas.

“I didn’t realize how much emotional support he was for me until he was not here,” Beilke told KETV.

LaMark told the TV station that he had seen the flyers about Milo and he later noticed the pup on the porch of a house on his route. The dog was hiding under a table, so he called Beilke.

And more than three weeks after Milo went missing, he was back home. He had traveled four miles during his journey.

“Here was this happy ending,” LaMark told KETV, “and I got to be a part of it and witness it.”

Beilke shared a Facebook post with photos of Milo ... in Buffalo Bills gear.

“Local celebrity. Former missing pup. Mailman-approved miracle dog. Milo is officially READY for the Bills game today,” she wrote. “From being delivered home by a real-life hero mailman while rocking a Chiefs jersey… to now suiting up for game day like the confident, street-smart legend he is.

“He’s gained some weight, reclaimed his couch, perfected his side-eye, and is very clear that snacks should be served promptly during kickoff. Bills Mafia — consider this your warning. Milo’s back. Milo’s cozy. Milo’s watching football. And yes… he’s still the goodest boy ever.

“P.S. Mom is still a Chiefs fan!”
