Mitch Holthus praises Kansas Highway Patrol for trooper’s help on way to Denver
Like some Kansas City fans, radio broadcaster Mitch Holthus made the trip across I-70 for Sunday’s Chiefs-Broncos game in Denver.
But the car ride didn’t go smoothly. Holthus had a tire blow out on his way to the game, and he needed the assistance of the Kansas Highway Patrol. Before kickoff on Sunday, Holthus praised trooper Lauren Braun in a social-media post along with others who serve.
“On bus headed to stadium in Denver and saying a prayer of gratitude for people who serve…a shout out to Officer Braun of the @kshighwaypatrol who was incredible in helping me when my tire blew out in the turnpike,” Holthus wrote on X. “In light of what happened yesterday in Osage County Kansas-a GameDay shout out to ALL our highway troopers in KS-NE-IA-MO and @Chiefs Kingdom“
Braun has been a trooper since 2021 and was the first female trooper to serve on the Kansas Turnpike Authority, the Highway Patrol noted last month.
Three deputies from the Osage County Sheriff’s Office and one Kansas Highway Patrol trooper were injured during a shooting in the incident Holthus mentioned. It happened near Carbondale, Kansas.
