To his credit, running back Isiah Pacheco worked hard to return to the Chiefs as quickly as possible last season after being sidelined by a fractured fibula in Week 2.

It was clear Pacheco wasn’t at his best when he came back to the Chiefs, and some may have wondered how he would look this season.

Pacheco looked good at training camp in St. Joseph. And there was reason for optimism, judging by his effort Friday night in the Chiefs’ preseason game against the Bears at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Pacheco opened the scoring on a 2-yard touchdown run. And he finished with 21 rushing yards on three carries, including a 13-yard dash that ended with a big hit.

By a wall.

Seriously. A wall.

Pacheco ran out of bounds and his momentum took him toward a wall past the sideline. He slipped and smashed into it in an awkward manner, but it didn’t affect him. Pacheco jumped up like it was nothing.

This is the Pacheco that Chiefs fans know and love, although there were probably a few fans who held their breath after Pacheco hit the wall.
