For Pete's Sake

Royals legend George Brett and Chiefs’ Travis Kelce had fun exchange at camp

A thunderstorm Wednesday forced the Chiefs to move their training-camp practice to the indoor facility at Missouri Western after nearly an hour of work outdoors.

That wasn’t a huge issue for the players, who still got the rest of their practice done. But for fans, they missed out on a full camp session in St. Joseph.

There was at least one high-profile fan at training camp, and he had a great view of the action: Baseball Hall of Famer George Brett.

Brett, the Royals legend, was on the outdoor practice fields and got to see the players up close. In fact, one of them actually went to see Brett. After catching a pass, Kelce initially ran past Brett, who was on the sideline. Kelce then turned around and put his arm around Brett.

KSHB-TV’s Nick Jacobs spotted the cool moment and shared video of it on X.

That’s Kansas City sports royalty right there.
