It doesn’t matter what anyone said in the days leading up to Tuesday, because Brewers rookie Jacob Misiorowski will forever be known as an All-Star pitcher.

Misiorowski, the former Grain Valley High School star, was added to the National League roster after opening his major-league career with five dazzling starts for Milwaukee.

Although Misiorowski has an electric arm and routinely hits triple-digits on the radar gun, his addition ruffled some feathers around baseball. But by Tuesday night, when Misiorowski came on to pitch for the NL in the eighth inning at Truist Park in Atlanta, that all meant nothing.

Misiorowski’s first pitch to Randy Arozarena was clocked at 101.7 mph. Arozarena flied out to center after a six-pitch at-bat, and four of the 23-year-old’s pitches topped 100 mph.

Toronto’s Alejandro Kirk followed with a flyout to right field, and Misiorowski hit 102 mph with two of four pitches. Two more pitches hit triple-digits against the next hitter, Jonathan Aranda, who singled.

Misiorowski got Detroit’s Zach McKinstry to line out to right to end the inning and maintain the National League’s 6-4 advantage.

That meant Misiorowski earned a hold — and eight of his 18 pitches topped 100 mph. Heck, he threw a 98.1 mph slider and had players shaking their heads.

Not too shabby for a 23-year-old who was pitching in just his sixth game in the majors.

In an interview with Fox Sports, Misiorowski said he had fun Tuesday night. Fox’s Ken Rosenthal asked if there were hard feelings among his NL teammates.

“They were all so happy for me and it was awesome,” Misiorowski said.

Misiorowski, who was born in Blue Springs, has struck out 33 in 25 2/3 innings for the Brewers this season. He has surrendered just 12 hits in those first five starts and has a 4-1 record with a 2.83 ERA.
