Fans in KC to have chance to take ice bath in tub shaped like Patrick Mahomes’ head
If you’re looking for a way to reduce the soreness after exercising, an ice bath may do the trick.
The Mayo Clinic said research on “cold-water immersion has found evidence that it helps reduce the degree of exercise-induced muscle damage that can occur after physically challenging activities. Less damage leads to less inflammation, which in turn reduces soreness and helps restore physical performance the next day.”
Filling a bath tub at your house with ice can be a timely and costly endeavor, and you may not like how it feels. But people in Kansas City will have an opportunity to try an ice-water bath on July 19 in the Power & Light District.
And you’ll be able to do it in a tub shaped like the head of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Yeah, you read that correctly.
Mahomes is teaming with Coors Light on a fundraiser for his 15 and the Mahomies foundation. For a $15 donation, you can be one of 60 people who can take the, well, plunge.
“Patrick Mahomes is back with Coors Light, and this time, the chill factor is going to a whole new level – inside his head,” Coors Light said on its website. “Because Mahomes’ mind is just as chill as the Rockies, and now, fans can literally dip into that legendary headspace with this one-of-a-kind cold plunge experience.”
You can sign up at coorslight.com for the event, which will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at KC Live! Block. I’m guessing the spots will fill quickly.
