For Pete's Sake

Travis Kelce’s Tight End U is this week and the class will see a special concert

The Chiefs wrapped up organized team activities and a minicamp last week, and now the players will enjoy some downtime before training camp starts on July 22 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

But Chiefs star Travis Kelce will be back on the field this week. He’ll be at his annual Tight End University in Nashville. The teaching camp is co-hosted by 49ers star George Kittle and Fox Sports broadcaster Greg Olsen, the former NFL tight end.

Roughly 75 current or former players are expected to take part in the four-day event, including Chiefs tight end Robert Tonyan. Also on the list are the Ravens’ Isaiah Likely, Bengals’ Mike Gesicki, Raiders’ Brock Bowers and Broncos’ Evan Engram.

Here is the full list of players.

During a 2023 episode of his New Heights podcast, Kelce spoke about why he loves Tight End University.

It’s such a cool opportunity and a unique opportunity because it feels like you’re at an all-star game, it feels like you’re at a Pro Bowl, because it’s very seldom you get to get this many guys in your profession in one room from different teams,” Kelce said at the time. “And it’s just so cool to hear everybody’s stories about what they’ve been through kind of how their coaches teach them certain routes or certain blocking schemes.”

This week won’t simply be about football. There also is a special “Tight Ends and Friends” concert planned for Tuesday.

Country music star Jordan Davis, who has had multiple No. 1 singles, will perform, along with Sophia Scott and Chase Rice.
