There are a lot of fun moments during the annual Big Slick weekend in Kansas City, and the laughs are shared by the celebrities who take part as well as the audience at the softball game and the gala.

Jason Kelce, the brother of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, took part in the event for the first time last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

But while discussing Big Slick on the New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce said his top moment was a video of Peter Vincent, a middle schooler from Tecumseh, Kansas, who was treated at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Big Slick raises funds for the hospital, and that video was a reminder of why the fundraiser was so important.

“My favorite part was probably the video at the end, even though it wasn’t the hilarious part like the rest of the night is, the shenanigans,” Jason Kelce said on New Heights.

Travis Kelce said: “It’s the part that stuck with you the most.”

“It really brings it full circle while you’re all there. You know, Peter was one of the kids that said Children’s Mercy, and they were following him before the event, and they always do that. But this year, unfortunately, Peter passed before the event, so it’s just so much more transparent of like how much you’re actually affecting family’s lives, people’s lives, by supporting this wonderful organization.

“So that was probably my favorite part. I mean, I was literally crying in the back of the freaking stage. So yeah, it was intense.”

“Yeah,” Travis Kelce said, “it got everybody, man.”

Peter Vincent died on May 4, less than four weeks before his 13th birthday. An obituary noted that Peter’s family encouraged people to wear Chiefs gear to his funeral.

The video included an interview with Peter’s dad, Ryan, who said his son had started a fundraiser with the hope that one day other kids wouldn’t have to experience what he went through. Peter had Pre B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

You can find that fundraiser here.

Big Slick shared the video with Peter and it’s evident why Jason Kelce was brought to tears.
