Judging by her social media accounts, Brittany Mahomes seems to be on the go constantly.

But Mahomes, who is a Kansas City Current co-owner, shared recently about how she spends her downtime when her three children take a nap.

Mahomes and her husband, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, have two daughters, 4-year-old Sterling and 4-month-old Golden, and a 2-year-old son Bronze.

“Instead of sitting on my phone while all 3 kids nap, (I’ve) been challenging myself to do something beneficial,” Brittany shared on her Instagram Story, per People magazine.

“Read my bible, lay in red light, even just getting outside and listening to silence is also very calming and rejuvenating for me.”

Red light therapy has become an increasingly popular treatment for skin care.

Brown University Health had this explanation of the treatment: “Red light therapy, also called photobiomodulation, low-level laser therapy, or low-power laser therapy, works by having a continuous red light placed on a targeted area of skin, usually at a light wavelength between 630 – 700 nanometers. This stimulates the production of mitochondria, a main energy source in cells, to help promote cell growth and function.”

Multiple books have been published about red light therapy as it continues to grow in popularity. And lots of products are available to be purchased online.

A story on the MD Anderson Cancer Center website said red light therapy has other benefits, which include:

  • Promote healing
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Improve blood circulation
  • Repair muscle and tissue
  • Offer pain relief

Some also believe the therapy could help with hair loss.

This is from the MD Anderson website: “Red light therapy is still in the investigational stages for pain management. This means there are not randomized control studies that outline how often or for how long a patient needs to get this therapy. However, we know that red light therapy has benefits.”
