For Pete's Sake

Popular social-media personality forced to change tune on Chiefs’ Travis Kelce

Earlier this month, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was seen in New York City for an American Eagle photoshoot, reports said, and he was spotted in sporty white apparel.

While the Daily Mail said Kelce looked suave, one popular NFL social media account had an entirely different take.

“Yikes: Chiefs star TE Travis Kelce appears to have gained a serious amount of weight this offseason,” Dov Kleiman wrote. “Looks like the fame is finally getting to him...”

That included a grimacing emoji face in the post from Kleiman, who has more than 340,000 followers.

While many X accounts write outlandish messages simply to get responses, people were nonetheless baffled.

“How can you even tell from this picture?” one fan noted.

Another shared this: “This deserves an unfollow”

A third wrote: “@ him then you coward”

It turns out the opposite of what Kleiman wrote is true.

A People magazine story noted that that Kelce was at Amazon MGM Studios Upfront on Monday, and gave an update on his weight.

“On the eve of his 13th season in the league, Kelce told reporters at the event he has lost 25 lbs. in an offseason effort to get in better shape,” People wrote.

The Dov Klieman account was forced to eat crow and suddenly was raving about Kelce’s look.

“Dawg: Chiefs superstar TE Travis Kelce claims he’s lost over 20 POUNDS this offseason to be in better shape for what is believed to be his final NFL season,” Klieman wrote. “Kelce wants to win a Super Bowl next season.”

That reversal didn’t go unnoticed.

“You posted that he was fat like 6 days ago,” one person noted on X.

Another wrote: “Funny cause a week ago Dov tweeted that kelce put on mad weight simply cause he was wearing a sweater.”
