Royals will pay tribute to Graham Hoffman, KC paramedic killed in line of duty
The Royals are planning to pay tribute to Graham Hoffman, the firefighter paramedic who was fatally stabbed Sunday while on duty in an ambulance.
A memorial service and public visitation for Hoffman, who was 29 years old, will be held this Friday. A funeral service will follow.
The Royals plan to pay tribute to Graham by wearing T-shirts during batting practice, according to Kansas City Fire Department Station 10.
Here is what the station wrote in a Facebook post: “The outpouring of support for all of KCFD and the Hoffman family in memory of Graham has been nothing short of amazing. We want to thank The Kansas City Royals for their purchase of the Station 42 shirts for all of the team and staff to wear during practice before games! This simple but monumental gesture is yet another example of the community that Kansas City is! With their purchase, E2 Embroidery & Screen Printing - Union Contract Printers has now passed the ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND dollar mark on their donation to the Hoffman family!”
The Royals are not sure when they will be wearing the shirts (during the current road trip or at home). But they also plan to have a moment of silence for Hoffman before a future home game.
