Royals’ Bobby Witt Jr. shares sweet tribute following the death of his agent
During his 40 years as a sports agent, Scott Pucino had the opportunity to represent two generations of the Witt family.
Pucino, who died Sunday at his home in Green Oaks, Illinois, represented former Major League Baseball pitcher Bobby Witt and his son, who is the starting shortstop for the Royals.
In addition to helping negotiate the 11-year, $288 million contract Witt received last year from the Royals, Pucino attended Witt’s wedding to his wife, Maggie, in Texas in December.
Witt paid tribute to Pucino, who was working for Octagon Baseball, with a pair of Instagram story messages.
“In memory of Scott Pucino,” Witt wrote. “Scotty was more than an agent for me. He was truly a part of our family. It was an honor for our family that he could represent both me and my dad in our careers. We will carry his legacy for years to come.”
