New Fox 4 reporter gets unexpected taste of intensity of KC sports rivalries
Viewers who tune to Fox 4 soon will see a new face during sports segments.
Taylor Burr, a 2023 graduate of the University of Florida, announced on social media that she was hired by WDAF-TV.
“I’m thrilled to share that I’m joining FOX 4 in Kansas City as their new sports reporter!I” Burr wrote on X. “I can’t wait to get started covering the Chiefs, Royals, University of Kansas, Kansas City Current, Sporting KC, the FIFA World Cup and all of the incredible athletes in the KC community. Let’s get to work!”
Seems like a nice way of introducing yourself to sports fans in Kansas City, right? Ah, but a few fans took note of colleges that Burr didn’t mention, and they let her know it (ditto for a few Mavericks supporters).
A couple hours later, Burr wrote another message for KC sports fans.
“Let’s try this again!” she wrote.
“I can’t wait to get started covering the Chiefs, Royals, Kansas State, University of Kansas, University of Missouri, Kansas City Current, Sporting KC, the Mavericks, high school sports, the FIFA World Cup and all of the incredible athletes in the KC community! Great fans are what makes great sports towns and I love the passion I am feeling already.”
