The NFL does an incredible job of keeping football in the spotlight year round.

After the Super Bowl, there is the NFL Combine, free agency, organized team activities, the draft, the schedule release, minicamp, training camp and then the start of the season.

So the league doesn’t need help in keeping fans engaged, but they did just that the last few days while discussing Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

There are quite a few fans who seem concerned about Kelce’s fitness, which seems like an odd thing to complain about in late March. Apparently there are people who need to see videos of football players working out during the offseason to feel better about their team.

Those negative comments set off other fans, who responded to those complaints about Kelce with derision. Add it all up and it was an odd and unexpected battle that broke out on X.

Here is a look at what was being said about Kelce, who had 97 catches and 823 receiving yards last season. This starts with a post that got a community note on X about the accuracy.
