One person who has been openly cheering the Chiefs during the offseason is linebacker Willie Gay Jr., who played his first four NFL seasons in Kansas City.

Last March, the New Orleans Saints signed Gay to a one-year contract, and he is now an unrestricted free agent.

While he doesn’t post frequently on Instagram, Gay does often share his thoughts on Instagram stories. Here is an example from Monday night about linebacker Cole Christiansen returning to the Chiefs.

After charges weren’t filed against Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy, Gay wrote: “Repost Repost Repost” with the prayer hands emoji.

And he shared a post about the Chiefs’ three-year deal with linebacker Nick Bolton.

X user Jenna shared screengrabs of those two posts and wrote: “Willie is always out here supporting!! I just want @WillieGayJr BACK!!!”

A fan named Lauren shared the screengrab of Gay celebrating Worthy and wrote: “I love that @WillieGayJr still supports our players.”

Gay, who was selected by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, responded to a fan who wanted him back in KC.

X user Blake Miller shared an Instagram screengrab in which Gay wrote: “Just waiting on a call man.”

That certainly sounds like Gay is open to a return to the Chiefs, a team with which he won two Super Bowl rings.
