Eagles star Saquon Barkley praised the Chiefs defense while playing in the Super Bowl
One thing the Chiefs did well in their Super Bowl LIX loss to the Eagles was stopping running back Saquon Barkley.
All season, Barkley ran wild against teams, but in Philadelphia’s 40-22 win over the Chiefs, he was held to 57 yards rushing in 25 carries. That’s an average of 2.3 yards per attempt.
In “Turning Point” on ESPN+, cameras caught Barkley praising the Chiefs defense during the game.
“That’s a great defense over there, boy,” Barkley said, while sitting on the bench. “I’m talking about sound. Whoa. Bro, I’m earning every yard.”
He added: “They coaching over there.”
This video below shows Barkley talking up the Chiefs defense before cutting to the reaction of Kansas City players late in the game. Also noteworthy: quarterback Patrick Mahomes telling teammates the Chiefs will make a return to the Super Bowl.
