Chiefs players wrote social-media messages to the fans after Super Bowl LIX loss
So close and yet so far.

Following the game, a number of players went on social media to share their thoughts, and some addressed Chiefs fans.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes apologized to fans and took the blame for the loss.
“Appreciate all the love and support from #ChiefsKingdom,” Mahomes wrote.
“I let y’all down today. I’ll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it.
“Want to give thanks to God for every opportunity he has given me.
“We will be back.”
Receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster wrote: “Thank you Chiefs Kingdom! Thank you to my teammates, coaches, and all the staff in KC. Sorry we weren’t able to get the job done! Thank you God for this opportunity.”
Fellow wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown wrote: “Proud of the guys , season I’ll never forget, don’t know what the future holds but Thank you Jesus for the opportunity we had tonight .. BackToWork”
Receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who was acquired in a midseason trade with the Titans, shared this: “Forever grateful to be part of the Chiefs organization, Didn’t complete the mission or play my best game but that’s life.”

Rookie receiver Xavier Worthy wrote: “Super Bowl appearance rookie year beyond blessed appreciate my dawgs man going out there and going to war all season but this isn’t the end. This is nothing but motivation and something to build on in the offseason.”
