Jason and Kylie Kelce detail their plans for cheering on Travis Kelce in Super Bowl LIX

Kylie Kelce faces a conundrum ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

Although her husband, Jason, retired from the Philadelphia Eagles after the 2023 season, Kylie lives in Philly and has friends with the franchise. But her brother-in-law is Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

On her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Kylie Kelce talked last month about her mixed emotions.

“Obviously this time when the Eagles play the Chiefs, it is a little bit different because my husband is retired from the Eagles. That being said, I am so happy and proud of Travis and the Chiefs’ accomplishments,” she said. “I think the opportunity to play for such a historic milestone is incredible to be able to potentially witness. And I think Travis has been there for his entire career. He has worked so hard and put in so much time that I am truly, as always, cheering Travis on. And I love him. He’s my family, so I will always cheer on Travis’ accomplishments and hopefully success.

“That being said, I was raised to bleed green. I have friends who are still associated with the team. I have a close relationship with a lot of people in the Eagles organization. I get to live in the Philadelphia community. So I also will be cheering for the success of those people.”

At the time of that podcast episode, she had planned to be in New Orleans to watch the Chiefs and Eagles game with the couple’s three children. But Kylie Kelce said this week on “Today,” the logistics of traveling with the girls wasn’t going to work.

However, Travis Kelce’s nieces will be wearing special shirts while watching the game.

“I will say we have made moves to get the girls “Go Uncle Trav” shirts. Because they love their uncle and of course they love cheering him on,” Kylie Kelce said on her podcast. “And to be fair, they love cheering on the birds too, but he is our family and I want to make sure the girls feel included.”

Kylie Kelce has famously avoided wearing red because of devotion to the Eagles. Her husband, Jason, pondered his wardrobe choices last month on his New Heights podcast.

“I can’t wear red,” Jason said. “I can’t wear it. I can’t bring myself to do it.”

Travis Kelce suggested he wear a shade of University of Cincinnati red.

Jason seemed to settle on a yellow shirt with the words “Big Yeti,” the nickname for Travis Kelce. That’s when the kid brother had an epiphany.

“Just wear a New Heights shirt, man,” Travis Kelce said. “That way I’ll know.”

Jason approved.

“That’s a good idea,” Jason said.

So that’s what you can expect to see Jason wearing on Sunday when the Chiefs play the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in the Superdome.
