Grammy-nominated country act will play halftime show at AFC Championship Game

For the second straight week, the Chiefs will have a musical act play at halftime of their playoff game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Big and Rich, a Grammy-nominated American country music group will be performing their songs on Sunday. The duo, which is better known as Big Kenny and John Rich, were nominated for their songs “Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)“ and “Comin’ To Your City.”

Last week, the rapper Big Boi played at halftime of the Chiefs-Texans game.

Retired United States Navy Petty Officer First Class Generald Wilson, who is well-known to Kansas City fans, will perform the national anthem. The Kansas City Fire Department will present the colors, and a B-2 Spirit from Whiteman Air Force Base will do the pregame flyover.

There also will be a pregame light show during player introductions. It will be provided by Chiefs fans in the stands. Fans must have the Chiefs app on their smart phone and press “join light show” when the stadium lights are dimmed.

The light show will be repeated after the third quarter.

The Chiefs will have warming stations in the Truman Sports Complex parking lot and inside Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Fans will be allowed to bring one factory-sealed bottle of water into the stadium, as long as it is no larger than 20 ounces.

Times to know

1 p.m.: Gates open at the Truman Sports Complex

3:30 p.m.: All gates open at Arrowhead Stadium

4:30 p.m.: Start of team warm-ups

5:29 p.m.: Bills team introductions

5:31 p.m: Chiefs team introductions

5:35 p.m.: National anthem

5:38 p.m.: Coin toss

5:40 p.m.: Kickoff
