Chiefs’ Chris Jones endears himself to Bills fans with defense of their chicken wings
Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith was on The Dive Bar podcast in July and he didn’t hold back in his criticism of the city of Buffalo.
“That’s got to be the worst place you can be in the world.” Smith said. “The buffalo wings ain’t even good. They ain’t even good. The wings ain’t good. ... I’m throwing all types of shots at Buffalo.”
Ahead of the Dolphins’ game earlier this month in Buffalo, ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote about that quote in a post on X.
One Chiefs player spoke up in defense of the chicken wings in Buffalo: defensive lineman Chris Jones.
“He lying… Bar Bill wings go crazy,” Jones wrote on X.
During a news conference on Thursday, Jones spoke about Bar-Bill Tavern, which has three locations in suburban Buffalo, and those wings.
“I completely enjoy playing in Buffalo,” Jones said. “They got the best wings. They really do. They have some of the best wings I ever tasted, Bar-Bill, I’m gonna go get someone to pick up some wings from Bar-Bill. Probably 50, but who’s counting?”
Bills fans, who really don’t like the Chiefs, still tipped their cap to Jones for defending the city’s honor and showing some love for one of its restaurants.
