The Chiefs’ game against the Saints started at 7:15 p.m., which meant it would end far too late for some 3-year-old girls.

Well, that was the message from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

After finishing an interview on ESPN before kickoff Monday night at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Mahomes made a point of saying hello to his 3-year-old daughter, Sterling.

“I wanted to tell my daughter Sterling ‘Hey,’ so hey, Sterling, go to bed,” Mahomes said with a slight laugh.

Here is that fun moment.

Any kid (and many adults) will agree that 7:15 p.m. is far, far too early, right?

While Sterling (and younger brother Bronze) weren’t at the game, his wife Brittany Mahomes was there and the couple shared a pregame kiss. That’s part of Patrick Mahomes’ pregame routine that he does every week the Chiefs play.
