Fans at Wednesday’s Royals-Guardians game will get a free chicken sandwich
The Royals added Chick-fil-A advertising to the Kauffman Stadium foul poles during the All-Star Game and it didn’t just benefit the team.
If any Royals player hits a home run off the foul pole, every fan at the game at The K wins a free chicken sandwich.
The first time fans won the giveaway came when a ball didn’t hit the foul pole. During the Royals’ 7-3 loss to the Cubs on July 28, catcher Freddy Fermin lofted a ball to left field where it was about to clang off the foul pole when a Cubs fan snagged it.
Fermin was credited with a home run because of fan interference. And the Royals decided to give fans the free sandwich.
A few weeks ago, outfielder MJ Melendez hit a home run off the right-field pole and triggered the giveaway, too.
Anyone who attends Wednesday night’s Royals-Guardians game at The K will be getting a free Chick-fil-A sandwich, too. I’m no Nostradamus predicting a home run. The Royals announced they planned a special giveaway.
Additionally, it the Royals turn a double play in the second inning, fans attending the game will receive a free chicken sandwich. Whenever fans win a freebie, “a QR code appears on the CrownVision screen, taking fans to the Chick-fil-A App to redeem their free chicken sandwich offer.”
If you’re going to The K on Wednesday, look to the scoreboard for a chance to get that sandwich.
