Fox Sports unveils FS1 talk-show lineup laden with hosts who have ties to KC
Fox Sports is tabbing a former Kansas City sports talk show host to begin its post-Skip Bayless Era.
Bayless left the morning show “Undisputed” earlier this month, and it is going away for good. Fox Sports announced its new FS1 schedule on Thursday, and former 610 AM radio host Danny Parkins will be part of the first show of the day. It’s called “Breakfast Ball.”
Nick Wright, another former KC radio host, will be back on “First Things First,” and a pair of former Chiefs will be featured on “The Facility.” Former KU star Paul Pierce will appear on the show “Speak.”
Here is the lineup.
BREAKFAST BALL (7 to 9 a.m.): Craig Carton will be joined by Parkins and Mark Schlereth. The show debuts on Aug. 26. Fox Sports said the trio will be “tackling sports’ most enticing stories each weekday morning.” The network added the show will be televised live at 11 a.m. on FS1 the first week then will move to its time slot on Sept. 3.
THE FACILITY (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.): Former Chiefs Chase Daniel and LeSean McCoy are on the show, which will include Emmanuel Acho and James Jones. The quartet will be “offering their distinctive opinions from the desk each weekday,” Fox Sports said.
THE HERD WITH COLIN COWHERD (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.): Cowherd’s show remains in place. It is co-hosted by Jason McIntyre.
FIRST THINGS FIRST (2 p.m. to 4 p.m.): Wright, who grew up in Kansas City and remains a vocal fan of the Chiefs and Royals, is joined by Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes.
SPEAK (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.): Pierce joins Joy Taylor and former NFL receiver Keyshawn Johnson on “Speak.” They will “passionately dive into the biggest stories in sports with elevated insight and distinguished experience,” Fox Sports said. The show debuts on Sept. 3.
