Any list of the Dallas Mavericks’ most high-profile fans has to start with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

At least once an NBA season, Mahomes attends a Mavericks game (and gets tickets from Mark Cuban). Mahomes has been at more games this season, including Game 3 of the Western Conference finals when Dallas defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Mahomes was joined by teammates Travis Kelce, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and Rashee Rice at that contest.

When not in Dallas, Mahomes has been glued to the television while watching the Mavericks.

With the Mavericks set to play Boston in the NBA Finals (Game 1 is Thursday night), they enlisted Mahomes to narrate a hype video.

“The Finals. There’s only one thing in the way now,” Mahomes says in the video. “And it’s not the opponent. It’s the willingness to sacrifice everything. Because the greatest competition is you. If you don’t believe in winning this title, you shouldn’t be here. You know what it cost to get this far. Every moment of your life has led you to this. And if you want to hold that trophy, it will cost a lot more. Nobody expected the Mavs. Nobody wanted the Mavs. But nobody can deny that you’ve earned it. Earned the respect of the league, earned a place at the table and earned the opportunity to bring Larry back to Dallas. Like the ones before, you’re a different breed, defiant and unexpected. unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Truly Maverick. One for All. One for Dallas. Let’s get it.“

Larry refers to the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
