Will Chiefs’ Travis Kelce head to Australia to see Taylor Swift? Here’s what he’s said

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was asked quite a few questions earlier this month about his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, during the Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night media extravaganza.

That included any plans he might have to visit Australia.

“We’ll have to see,” Kelce said at one point. “I don’t know what the future holds right now. I’m just focused on this game and everything afterwards I’m sure will play out.”

Kelce later said: “I would love to experience Down Under, for sure.”

The reason for the questioning about Australia?

Swift, the superstar singer, had three shows in Melbourne over the weekend. Starting this Friday, Swift will play the first of four dates in Sydney.

During his “New Heights” podcast episode this past week, Kelce said: “I’m about to go venture to an island real soon.”

His brother Jason asked: “Where you going?”

“I think the best ones are south,” Kelce said, “so I think I’m going to go south.”

Sure, Kelce could be headed to a Caribbean island by himself, but Australia is an island nation, so that makes sense. And it would require traveling south. Then there is this: Kelce said he won’t be part of next week’s “New Heights” podcast episode.

Those clues seem to indicate his desire to visit Australia.

Kelce and Swift have already gone to great lengths to see each other at their jobs.

In November, Kelce traveled to Argentina during the Chiefs’ bye week and saw Swift in concert and hung out with her father. Earlier this month, Swift played a show in Tokyo, Japan, on a Saturday night, then flew to the United States to see Kelce in Super Bowl LVIII.

After her concerts in Australia, Swift has six shows scheduled in Singapore starting March 2. Then there will be a two-month break before Swift starts a tour of Europe.

The New York Post previously reported Kelce is planning to spend time with Swift when the tour shifts to Europe.

But first up are the concert dates in Australia that may be attended by Kelce. Oh, and Swift was spotted wearing a Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII champions cap while Down Under.
