The clever wordplay never stops with Taylor Swift.

The superstar singer walked into Madison Square Garden Wednesday night for the Knicks-Spurs game wearing a shirt that expressed colorful allegiance to the New York team and downright affection for singer Stevie Nicks, one of her musical role models.

Swift was accompanied by longtime besties Este Haim and Alana Haim of the Haim Sisters. The trio wore matching blue T-shirts emblazoned with “Stevie Knicks” in orange. Notice, Knicks colors.

Swift made a point to show off hers to fans as she walked through the crowd.

Swift and Nicks have been friends since 2010 when they performed together at the Grammys, where she and the legendary Fleetwood Mac singer performed the group’s song “Rhiannon.” Nicks wrote that song.

Swift has referred to Nicks as a major musical influence and even name-dropped her in the song “Clara Bow” from “The Tortured Poets Department” album.

Swift sings: “You look like Stevie Nicks / In ‘75, the hair and lips / Crowd goes wild at her fingertips / Half moonshine, a full eclipse.”

The good feelings are mutual. Nicks told Rolling Stone in October 2024 that Swift is “really smart” and “has a good man” in fiance Travis Kelce.

“I hope they fall deeper and deeper in love and ride off into the sunset. He does his thing and she does her thing, and then they come back together and get married and have babies if she wants that. I just want all of that for her,” she said.

In June 2024 Nicks attended the last night of Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Dublin.

Before she sang “Clara Bow” that night, Swift said Nicks was someone “who has really been one of the reasons why I — or any female artist — gets to do what we get to do.”

She said Nicks “paved the way for us, and she’s mentored so many artists that you don’t even know she’s doing it. She’s become friends with so many female artists just to be a guiding hand. I can’t tell you how rare that is.

“She’s a hero of mine and also someone that I can tell her any secret and she’d never tell anybody. She’s really helped me through so much over the years.”

If recent online reports based on anonymous sources bear fruit, Swift will be back in Madison Square Garden in just a few weeks to get married there.

Allegedly, she and Kelce will exchange vows inside the famous arena in front of a highly protected guest list.

But given Swift’s appearance Wednesday with the Haim sisters, it’s a safe assumption that these besties will have a role.

And anyone want to guess that Nicks has an invite, too?
