Bills fans eating up Taylor Swift-themed foods with more to come at Chiefs game
The Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift excitement has led to a brewery in Minneapolis selling beers named after the couple. And a Des Moines pizzeria has offered a special pie named for the Chiefs tight end and his main squeeze.
Now, you might think that Kelce/Swift talk would be muted in upstate New York ahead of Sunday’s AFC Divisional playoff game between the Chiefs and Bills.
But no, there is no stopping the Kelce/Swift mania.
Donuts Delite in Rochester, New York, has been selling doughnuts with Swift’s likeness, and the demand has been crazy.
“A doughnut platter with Bills- and Chiefs-branded doughnuts encircling an oversized cinnamon-flavored flying saucer doughnut with Swift’s image ($45) and individual ‘Swiftie’ doughnuts ($4) are flying out the door,” the Democrat & Chronicle reported.
“At least 2,000 Swift-themed pastries have sold, including around 500 between 6 and 9 a.m. Friday.”
The doughnut shop has had to bring in extra workers to help with the demand, the story notes.
“We didn’t really know how many Taylor Swift fans there were,” owner Nick Semeraro told the Democrat & Chronicle. “There’s a lot.”
Swift-inspired food at game
Bills fans who attend Sunday’s game will have the option to buy foods inspired by Swift, too.
Sports business reporter Darren Rovell shared a look at the “Bad Blood Waffle Fries” that will be sold at Highmark Stadium. “Bad Blood” is one of Swift’s many hit songs (this one with Kendrick Lamar).
This meal is also a nod to the Chiefs. It’s 2 feet of waffle fries that are topped by Buffalo chicken and blue cheese along with Kansas City Cattleman’s BBQ pork, cole slaw and pickles, Rovell said.
Bills fans will have a chance to get a Karma Quesadilla, too, on Sunday.
“Karma” is another Swift song and you may have heard she changed the lyrics at a concert when Kelce was on hand (“Karma is the guy on the Chiefs”).
This offering has chicken tenders, bacon, and cilantro ranch in a triple-stacked quesadilla, topped with a pork-belly chaser, according to X user Joshua Sánchez.
.
Yep, there is no slowing down the Travis Kelce/Taylor Swift mania.
