Tua Tagovailoa tried unsuccessfully to get Patrick Mahomes’ jersey after Chiefs’ win
The meeting took place shortly after the Chiefs’ 26-7 win over the Dolphins in Saturday night’s AFC Wild Card game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes approached Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa on the field, and waited a second as L’Jarius Sneed finished his conversation with the Dolphins quarterback.
Mahomes then congratulated Tagovailoa, who led the NFL with 4,624 passing yards, on a “hell of season.” Tagovailoa asked for Mahomes’ jersey from the game, but it appears it had already been promised to someone else. And it sounded like Mahomes said he was going to give it to Chiefs general manager Brett Veach, but I might have that wrong.
Despite not being able to make an on-field exchange, Mahomes said he’d send a jersey to Tagovailoa, and it seems like Mahomes wanted one from his Dolphins counterpart.

An on-field jersey swap would have been out of the question anyway given that it was the coldest game in Chiefs history.
