Ticket prices for Chiefs-Dolphins playoff game drop below $30 amid brutal forecast
On the plus side, fans may never again see tickets this cheap for a Chiefs playoff game.
On the negative side, the wind chill may never again be this bad at a Chiefs playoff game.
Temperatures aren’t expected to get above 6 degrees today, the National Weather Service said, and the wind chill tonight could be as brutal as minus 31.
That forecast has pushed down prices on the secondary market beyond what is expected.
The website Finance Buzz researched ticket sales from last year’s postseason and found that ticket prices on the day of a Wild Card game on average were 21% cheaper than a week earlier on the secondary market.
That’s especially true this year, given the forecast in Kansas City and for Sunday’s Bills-Steelers game in New York where there could be blizzard conditions.
Ticket prices continue to drop for Saturday night’s Chiefs-Dolphins game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
As of Saturday morning, Ticketmaster showed tickets were available for as low as $23.80, including fees.
There were tickets available for $30 at Vivid Seats, while Seat Geek showed seats could be had for $26. At StubHub, the cheapest ticket was $25.
Each of those offers is less than what it will cost to park at the Truman Sports Complex.
Some fans have taken to social media looking for people to buy their tickets.
Should you decide to brave the cold, the Chiefs will have warming stations for fans inside and outside Arrowhead Stadium.
