Chiefs release trailer for a fake Hallmark Christmas movie about playoff football
The Chiefs put out a hype video for Saturday’s AFC Wild Card game that considers the NFL playoffs a holiday.
If the postseason really is a holiday, then why is there, say, no Hallmark Christmas movie about football?
The Chiefs took care of that, too.
They made a trailer for a fake film called “Nobody Hates Football.” It stars Janel Parrish as Amber and Tyler Hynes. Those two starred in a Hallmark Christmas movie last year called “Never Been Chris’d.”
The Chiefs put out a teaser for their trailer about a fake movie.
“You’re not just a fan, it’s your livelihood. It’s the Chiefs or me,” Amber tells Hynes’ character, Ben. “I hate football!”
Ben responds: “Amber, c’mon, nobody hates football.”
Amber, who had been burned by a Browns fan, was upset to see him working in a Chiefs store called “Kingdom Keepsakes.” We see in a scene that he is straightening some friendship bracelets, a clear nod to the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift romance.
The fake film also stars Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith, Tommy Townsend, Dante Hall, Tech N9ne, Donna Kelce, Melissa Etheridge, Kameron Marlowe and Kimmi Chex. Rob Riggle narrates.
The Chiefs went all out for this and made a movie poster, too.
Townsend stars as a hair salon worker.
“I just feel he’s hiding something,” Amber tells Townsend.
“Well, your love life may be a mess, but your hair is on point,” Townsend responds.
That should get a laugh from Chiefs fans.
Donna Kelce appears as a waitress who offers Amber some advice on love. And then we see Humphrey, who calls out “Order No. 13.”
That’s another Taylor Swift reference, and then we see Smith in the diner.
Here is that trailer for the Chiefs’ fake Hallmark Christmas movie, which the team shared on Wednesday. There are a ton of Easter eggs packed into less than 3 minutes.
