When former Kansas basketball star Gradey Dick was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 13th overall pick in June’s NBA Draft, he had hopes of meeting the team’s biggest fan.

That’d be hip-hop star Drake, who is often at Raptors games. and Dick got the opportunity to meet him by chance.

Dick told the Canadian Press’ John Chidley-Hill, he had gone to the Raptors’ training facility to retrieve some items when he noticed some visitors.

“I just saw people running around with cameras and I was like ‘what’s going on?”‘ Dick said. “It was Drake filming a video with his son.

“I had plans to meet Drake when he came back to Toronto but we happened to just be there randomly but he was like, ‘Hey, why don’t you hop in for a little cameo?’”

This wasn’t a music video for a Drake song. It was a tune by Drake’s 6-year-old son, Adonis Graham.

In the video for the song “My Man Freestyle,” Dick joins Drake and Adonis at a news conference. You can see Dick at two different times in the video.

This isn’t quite Kris Kross’ “Jump,” but to be fair, those kids were twice as old as Adonis.

X user Braiden Turner shared a nice photo of Dick with Drake and his son.

“It was so random that no one really knew what was happening,” Dick told the Canadian Press.
