The college basketball season begins in less than three weeks, and a couple of things seem likely to happen at Allen Fieldhouse.

First is this: The Kansas men’s basketball team will win a lot of games on their home court. That’s been the case for quite sometime now.

Second: Fans of other teams will complain on social media (or among themselves) about the number of calls the Jayhawks get at Allen Fieldhouse.

Whether you support the Jayhawks or another Big 12 Conference team (or perhaps Mizzou), you’ve heard this argument in the past. KU coach Bill Self apparently has, too, because he poked fun at that perception this week at Big 12 basketball media day at the T-Mobile Center.

While the conference’s coaches were setting up for a photo, Oklahoma’s Porter Moser was next to Self and expressed the need for caution.

“If I get too close to Bill,” Moser quipped, “someone’s going to call a foul.”

That elicited laughter from the other coaches, and Self then joked: “Only at home.”

This was a funny moment, and Fox 4 sports anchor Harold Kuntz shared it on X (née Twitter).
