Cowboys Hall of Famer gives shout-out to a pair of Chiefs legends at the NFL Draft
When he announced a Cowboys draft pick at the 2017 NFL Draft in Philadelphia, legendary Dallas wide receiver Drew Pearson trolled Eagles fans in a big way.
Sort of like Jason McCourty did to Chiefs fans on Friday night at the 2023 NFL Draft in Kansas City.
But when Pearson, who is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, took the stage Friday at Union Station, he went a different route.
Pearson paid tribute to a pair of legendary members of the Chiefs organization.
“As an undrafted free agent, I’m honored to be here in Kansas City for the 2023 NFL Draft,” Pearson said. “Of course, I come to you as a former Dallas Cowboy, but I also want to honor the legacy of the Kansas City Chiefs and some of its great players like the great Otis Taylor and original owner, Lamar Hunt.”
Pearson went on to talk about the Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones, but it was still cool that he took note of the Chiefs history.
Here is the moment.
Taylor, who died earlier this year, is still third in Chiefs history in career touchdown receptions and career receiving yards.
Hunt founded the Chiefs franchise and coined the name Super Bowl.
