For Pete's Sake

Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase shot down jersey request from Chiefs’ Willie Gay Jr. in AFC title game

The NFL released full mic’d-up video from the AFC Championship Game this week and it includes a number of conversations between the players on the field and sideline.

You can hear the coaches offering encouragement or giving tough love, and other fun nuggets.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow tells the Chiefs’ Frank Clark that KC is bringing the heat, Justin Reid’s thoughts on “Burrowhead” and a comical interaction between Cincinnati receiver Ja’Marr Chase and Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay Jr.

Before Gay left the game in the third quarter because of a shoulder injury, he approached Chase and asked for his jersey at game’s end.

Chase, however, was not going to make that swap, as you can see in this video clip from Twitter user Dov Kleiman.

The Bengals will be back at Arrowhead Stadium in the 2023 season, so perhaps Gay will ask again.
