Bally Sports Kansas City apologizes for cutting away from end of Royals-White Sox game

A three-run 10th inning gave the Royals a 5-2 victory over the White Sox on Thursday in Chicago and meant a happy flight home for the players.

Unfortunately for many fans back in Kansas City, it wasn’t such a happy ending to the game because the television coverage cut out in the 10th inning.

Some fans streaming or watching TV on Cox Communications, Comcast, Spectrum, Nex-Tech, AT&T and Xfinity missed the very end of the game and the postgame show.

Many fans expressed their frustration on Twitter, and here are two examples.

This issue has happened in the past, but Bally Sports KC said it was planning to make sure it won’t occur in the future.

“We apologize to the fans who didn’t receive the final moments of Thursday’s Royals win,” Bally Sports KC said in statement. “It was the result of an error at our master control facility, and we’re putting new measures in place in an effort to prevent something like this from happening again.”

Bally Sports Kansas City is owned by the Diamond Sports Group, a subsidiary of the Sinclair Broadcast Group.

The issue with the Royals game is believed to have occurred at a facility in Atlanta, which was built by Sinclair for its regional sports networks. That includes Bally Sports KC.
