For Pete's Sake

The Kansas City Royals had a simple but fun way to announce the end of MLB lockout

And on the 99th day of the Major League Baseball lockout, a deal was struck.

MLB and the players’ union agreed Thursday to a new collective-bargaining agreement that means the regular-season should start April 7, bringing an end to a labor dispute.

Royals players were excited for the opportunity to return to work. That begins Sunday, which is the mandatory report day for spring training, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reported.

The Royals had a simple but fun way to show baseball was returning to Kauffman Stadium.

Here is what Royals players were saying on social media after the lockout ended.

Pitcher Tyler Zuber wrote: “Now we go!!”

Shortstop Nicky Lopez tweeted: “See you soon, KC!!”

Hunter Dozier shared this:

Dylan Coleman, a Royals minor-league pitcher from Missouri State, echoed Zuber’s thought.

Fans were excited, too. This is a sample of what they were saying.
