For Pete's Sake

Perhaps these shoes will one day make an appearance in a State Farm commercial, too.

You may recall there is a TV ad in which Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is working as a sneaker salesman to get an employee discount. When Mahomes learns he doesn’t have to be a star athlete to get cheaper insurance, he pulls a pair of shoes from the hands of Jake from State Farm.

Those are the Chiefs star’s signature adidas sneakers, the Mahomes Impact FLX shoes.

A new version of the cross-training shoe is due to hit the market at 2 a.m. on Monday and will retail for $130.

Here is a description of the shoes from adidas: “Dedicated to a legend in the making. These adidas football shoes are part of the Patrick Mahomes collection. Wear them in the weight room or as an everyday pair. The clean upper rides on a wavy, nubbed outsole that provides traction on a variety of surfaces. Boost offers incredible energy return, whether you’re running the bleachers or simply moving from point A to point B.”

This is a new colorway of the shoes and they are cream white, khaki and wild pine. The first version of the sneakers were “team solar green, cloud white and core black.”

Adidas shared a sneak peek on Twitter.

The first edition of the shoes sold out on adidas’ website.
