For Pete's Sake

At Texas Tech game, Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes receives a hero’s welcome from fans

You can argue whether Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the most famous Texas Tech alum, but there’s little question he’s the most high-profile fan of the Red Raiders’ sports teams.

When there is a big Texas Tech game (no matter the sport), Mahomes often tweets his support. And he attended the men’s basketball Final Four in Minneapolis when the Red Raiders advanced to the championship game in 2019.

On Wednesday night, Mahomes was back in Lubbock to watch 11th-ranked Tech play No. 7 Baylor in a men’s basketball clash.

If you wondered what Tech fans thought of Mahomes, here’s your answer.

Baylor led 39-32 at halftime, but Tech roared back and won 83-73. Mahomes was fired up during the game.

Texas Tech players and fans were thrilled that Mahomes had come to the game.
